About the Author

Hi, I’m Jun, the founder and editor of Bluepapers.

My story

I’ve lived in Australia for more than ten years, and living between Australia and Korea taught me that money works a little differently in every country. Buying a home, building credit, saving for emergencies and planning for retirement all follow their own rules, even when the basic ideas are the same.

Then my daughter went to study in the United States, and I found myself trying to understand a third system: American rents, credit scores, mortgages and the cost of everyday life. I quickly realized how much I didn’t know.

Why I started Bluepapers

Every time I looked for answers, I found either vague rules of thumb or articles that assumed I already understood the jargon. So I started studying on my own: reading the original data from the Federal Reserve, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Freddie Mac and other official sources, running the numbers myself and writing down what I learned in plain English.

Bluepapers is that notebook, shared openly. If you’re facing the same questions I was, whether you’re buying your first home, supporting a child studying abroad or simply trying to understand where you stand, I hope these guides save you time and help you make a confident decision.

How I work

  • I check every statistic against its primary source before publishing, and I link to that source so you can check it too.
  • I test every calculator on this site against hand calculations, and each one shows the assumptions it uses.
  • I use AI tools to help with research, drafting and design. I review and edit every article before it’s published, and I’m responsible for what appears here.
  • I update guides when rates, rules or data change. Read our Editorial Policy for the full process.

A note on credentials

I’m not a certified financial planner or a licensed financial advisor. I’m a careful learner who does the homework and shows the work. Nothing on Bluepapers is personalized financial, tax, legal or investment advice, so please talk to a qualified professional before making major decisions.

I check everything carefully, but I’m human and mistakes can happen. If you spot one, please email me at studiojacobs@gmail.com. I’ll correct it quickly, and I’m genuinely grateful for your help in making these guides better for everyone.
